Advanced Troubleshooting & Vehicle Systems for the
CDR/EDR Operator-Technician (5-day, 40-hour course)
|
 |
Damaged DLC Connector |
|
| Note: This class is not currently being offerred as we lost the custom training center and vehicles used for this class. This class can be "taken on the road" but there are quite a few logistics involved. If your agency/company would be interested in hosting this class please contact us regarding the hosting requirements.
This course is pre-approved for 40 ACTAR CEUs.

This course provides the CDR/EDR Tool user with an advanced skillset to conduct DLC imaging in more difficult situations where other users might not be able to. Attendees will learn to troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems as well as “connecting” to the vehicle when the DLC is damaged or not accessible. The experienced CDR Tool user will gain a better understanding of the various vehicle system components that “provide” information to the ACM, their locations, as well as how to “test” them.
Most, if not all, of the skills taught in this class will apply to other EDR tools such as Hyundai/Kia.
Note: We no longer have a training facility for this class and are looking for other available options one of which is to present the bulk of the class live online.

Global Techstream Software+ (GTS+) Toyota Safety Sense Systems & Data Retrieval Course (4 to 6 hours)
|
Note: This class is in the process of being developed as we make the transition from the old Techsream software to the new GTS+ software. The newly designed class is expected to be finalized and available sometime after July 1st, 2025.
It is anticipated this course would be approved for a minimum of four to six ACTAR CEUs.
This course will provide an understanding of the various Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) systems, various Vehicle Control History (VCH) data parameters & triggers, the Global Techstream Software+ (GTS+), getting the data and the PCS data viewer. There will also be case studies presented along with additional information to "analyze" the data and how to link the VCH data to a Bosch CDR report.
This course is available as an in-person course and can be combined with other EDR tool training courses.
We anticipate offering it live online via Zoom on a somewhat regular basis.

These courses are best suited for law enforcement crash investigators, field investigators, insurance investigators and adjusters, or those involved in vehicle documentation and examinations.
All in-person Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) tool and Event Data Recorder (EDR) tool courses include lecture and hands-on activities by experienced instructors. Live online courses include lecture and some self-paced hands-on activities by students following the live presentation.
Attendees are not required to own the factory specific tools (Bosch CDR tool, Hyundai-Kia EDR tool, Tesla EDR Tool) in order to attend these courses, although it is strongly encouraged. Some of the self-paced activities will require access to the respective CDR/EDR tool.
